The facilities are Bryson, Franklin and Mission hydro stations in the Nantahala area, and Tuxedo and Gaston Shoals hydro stations in the Green/Broad River Basin.
DEC will purchase all of the energy generated by these facilities for five years through power purchase agreements with Northbrook Energy.
Claimed to be the first of its kind in Europe, the Drax’s BECCS project is expected to contrite to the global efforts to combat climate change as it enables power generation while eliminating production of gases that cause global warning from the atmosphere, the firm said.
Drax plans to invest £400,000 in the proposed project, which could be the first of company’s several pilot schemes to deliver a rapid, lower cost demonstration of BECCS.
The two wind farms will be located near Bahia Blanca city in the Province of Buenos Aires.
The order was placed by Pampa Energía and includes supply and installation of 28 V136-3.45 MW turbines delivered in 3.8 MW Power Optimised Mode for Pampa and De La Bahía wind park that both have a total capacity of 53 MW.
The order also includes 20-year Active Output Management (AOM 5000) service agreement.
Modi said that the commissioning of the Kishanganga hydropower plant is as an important step towards addressing the power requirements of Jammu and Kashmir and other states.
