One of Turkey's first hybrid solar and wind farms is under development.

Setravul is adding a 30 MW solar plant to a 32 MW wind farm commissioned in 2020.

The combination of co-located wind and solar allows the project to achieve an overall higher capacity factor.

San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) announced that four microgrids equipped with energy storage will be added to the San Diego region to help the state meet high energy demand, particularly on hot summer days and in the peak evening hours after solar power dissipates.

Microgrids can operate independent of, or parallel to, the larger regional grid. These four will be installed at critical community facilities so that they can remain powered during unexpected outages.

A new rule from the California Public Utilities Commission is expected to simplify the interconnection process for distributed energy resources (DERs) like solar and battery storage systems.

Most commentators, including MISO states, want FERC to reject the Midcontinent ISO (MISO) proposal to implement FERC Order 2222— and allow distributed energy resources to p

Technical support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) helped Ghana deploy the first West African hydro-solar plant in January.

Pine Gate Renewables has secured $500 million of financing from Generate Capital to support the company's nationwide development of utility-scale solar projects.

The investment includes a $200 million equity investment and an additional $300 million commitment to a long-term asset partnership for solar project financing.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House is launching a formal partnership with 11 East Coast governors to boost the growing offshore wind industry, a key element of President Joe Biden’s plan for climate change.

NextEra Energy Resources has broken ground on a 110 MW wind farm in Minnesota.

The Walleye Wind Energy Center in Rock County will feature 40 GE wind turbines.

Subject to local and state approvals, the project is scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2022.

PJM Interconnection announced the procurement of resources in its capacity auction to meet electricity needs and ensure reliable service for the 2023/2024 delivery year.

The auction results reflect what PJM said was a lower-carbon resource mix achieved at a lower cost to consumers than for the 2022/2023 delivery year.

As economies ramp up their commitments to decarbonize and transition to net-zero, many are turning to renewable energies like floating offshore wind farms to support global action. In addition, the recent geopolitical tensions compelled several European countries to hasten their transition away from fossil fuels. As a result, the potential of floating offshore wind is in the spotlight.
