WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. solar manufacturers say they are considering legal challenges after President Joe Biden declared a two-year pause for tariffs on solar imports from Southeast Asia.

Biden also invoked the Defense Production Act on Monday as the White House moved to jumpstart solar installations that have been slowed or abandoned amid a Commerce Department inquiry into possible trade violations involving Chinese products.

Innergex Renewable Energy has purchased a 332 MW wind portfolio in Chile, making the company one of the largest renewable energy producers in the country.

The acquisition came through the purchase of all of the ordinary shares of Aela for $685.6 million.

The demand for renewable energy from corporations is largely credited with the rapid deployment of clean energy resources around the world over the past decade.

Solar and energy storage developer Nexamp has completed a community solar farm project in Illinois.

The 2.8 MW French Road Solar is in Burlington in the ComEd service territory. The project is one of 20 Nexamp community solar projects operating or in development across northern Illinois.

Vistra's 108 MW solar farm is now online in Crane County, Texas.

The Emerald Grove Solar Facility is Vistra's third of seven new renewable and energy storage projects the utility is bringing online across Texas over the next few years.

A green hydrogen project in Utah has received a $504.4 million loan guarantee from the Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office, the first guarantee awarded to a clean energy project in nearly a decade.

The Advanced Clean Energy Storage project will combine 220 MW of alkaline electrolysis with two 4.5-million-barrel salt caverns to store clean hydrogen.
