BERLIN (AP) — German lawmakers on July 7 approved a major package of reforms aimed at boosting the production of renewable power, as Chancellor Olaf Scholz warned that the country has for too long relied on energy supplies from Russia.
Siemens Energy and Air Liquide have announced a joint venture for the production of industrial-scale renewable hydrogen electrolyzers.
The yet-to-be-named JV with 74.9% holding by Siemens Energy and 25.1% by Air Liquide – and subject to approval by the relevant authorities – marks a major boost in the scale-up of electrolyzer production in the region and for its hydrogen economy in general.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking public feedback to inform the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s nearly $630 million in investments in hydropower facilities, such as dams.
Bank of America has signed a 15-year, 160 MW clean energy agreement.
Under the agreement, Bank of America procures a portion of the clean energy generated by the third and final phase of the Mammoth Solar project in Indiana.
Jupiter Power’s 200 MW/200 MWh standalone battery storage facility is now commercially operable.
Crossett Power Management, located in Crane County, Texas, now becomes one of the largest battery storage projects in ERCOT, the grid operator representing 90 percent of the state’s electric load.
Crossett is Jupiter’s second transmission-connected project to begin operations, joining Flower Valley II, a 100MW/200MWh storage facility in Reeves County, Texas.
(Tue, 05 Jul 2022) Nearly all of Norwayâs electricity is generated from renewables. Hydroelectricity accounts for the highest share of renewables-based electricity generation. However, crude oil and natural gas production will continue to play an important role in Norwayâs economy. Norway exports most of the crude oil and natural gas it produces.
On June 28, the Volkswagen Group and Siemens announced their support of the ambitious growth plans of Electrify America, LLC – the largest public ultra-fast charging network for electric vehicles from all vendors in North America.
