Three factories in three months.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued and discussed a new Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPR) that would make significant reforms to interconnection rules and processes for generation developers looking to connect their projects to the transmission grid.

A pair of community solar+storage projects in Massachusetts are now operational.

Agilitas Energy completed construction on a 7.3 MW solar and 3.6 MW/9.5 MWh energy storage project in Auburn.

Recent state appeals court rulings are starting to shed light on how far Minnesota counties can go to limit solar development on agricultural land.

Although most European nations have been making great strides towards a greener energy mix, it’s fair to say that Russia’s recent actions have accelerated the continent’s renewable energy plans.

Over the past month, the European Union has agreed to ban all sea freighted Russian oil imports, and non-EU countries have put similar regulations in place. The UK, for example, will phase out all Russian oil imports by the end of the year.

How to manage and monetize distributed energy resources is one of the most rapidly changing pieces of the energy transition.

Every few weeks it seems a new software startup has raised tens (sometimes, hundreds) of millions of dollars in pursuit of those challenges. Meanwhile, utilities are watching the electricity distribution model that has stood up for a hundred years get turned on its head.

One of Turkey's first hybrid solar and wind farms is under development.

Setravul is adding a 30 MW solar plant to a 32 MW wind farm commissioned in 2020.

The combination of co-located wind and solar allows the project to achieve an overall higher capacity factor.

San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) announced that four microgrids equipped with energy storage will be added to the San Diego region to help the state meet high energy demand, particularly on hot summer days and in the peak evening hours after solar power dissipates.

Microgrids can operate independent of, or parallel to, the larger regional grid. These four will be installed at critical community facilities so that they can remain powered during unexpected outages.

A new rule from the California Public Utilities Commission is expected to simplify the interconnection process for distributed energy resources (DERs) like solar and battery storage systems.

Most commentators, including MISO states, want FERC to reject the Midcontinent ISO (MISO) proposal to implement FERC Order 2222— and allow distributed energy resources to p
