Executives from NextEra Energy Resources said a two-year pause on new tariffs on solar modules imported from Southeast Asia provides the clarity to restart projects that were halted because of uncertainty created by a trade case.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom is calling on energy regulators to increase the state’s offshore wind target to at least 20 GW by 2045.
Newsom is asking the California Energy Commission (CEC) to implement the goal as part of the Assembly Bill 525 process. In May, the CEC set a preliminary target of 3 GW of offshore wind by 2030 and 15 GW by 2045.
More than $8 billion in loans for residential solar and efficiency improvements have been financed on the Mosaic platform, a milestone achievement for the Oakland, California-based company.
Mosaic has funded approximately $1 billion in loans per quarter this year and has helped more than 250,000 households switch to sustainable home improvements since the company’s founding in 2010.

President Joe Biden moved to remove hurdles to offshore wind development in the southern Atlantic on Wednesday, saying it was among many executive actions he was taking to combat the climate crisis.
AP — Georgia regulators turned back an effort to expand by 75,000 the cap on the number of rooftop solar panel installations where Georgia Power pays a high rate for power generated.
In a 3-2 vote, the Georgia Public Service Commission decided to study the costs and benefits of rooftop solar before they vote on a rate increase for Georgia Power in December. The number of participants will remain frozen at the current level of 5,000 until then.
A 350 MW wind farm paired with a 137 MW/204.6 MWh battery storage facility is now operational in Texas.
The Azure Sky project in Throckmorton County is Enel Green Power's first hybrid wind+storage project. It features 79 wind turbines— a mix of Nordex and Vestas models. Wärtsilä supplied the battery storage system.

The Oberon Solar Project is being developed by Intersect Power on about 2,600 acres in Riverside County. It is the third project approved for full construction under the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan.
