The American Clean Power Association has announced that Jason Grumet will serve as the organization’s next chief executive officer.

Grumet has led the Bipartisan Policy Center since he founded the think tank in 2007. In 2001, Grumet founded and directed the National Commission on Energy Policy, which advocates for energy policies. He previously led the Northeast States for Coordinated Air Use Management.

BOSTON (AP) — A Massachusetts man who participated in a scheme to defraud the U.S. government out of about $50 million in tax-free grants intended to fund clean energy projects has been sentenced to seven years in prison, federal prosecutors said Wednesday.

Northern California has some of the strongest offshore winds in the U.S., with immense potential to produce clean energy. But it also has a problem. Its continental shelf drops off quickly, making building traditional wind turbines directly on the seafloor costly if not impossible.

Six research projects aiming to expand the co-location of solar power generation and agriculture production have received a combined $8 million from the U.S. Dept. of Energy.

So-called agrivoltaics projects have the potential to provide mutual benefits for farmers, communities, ecosystems, and solar developers. In the U.S., only 2% of solar projects are co-located with crops or pollinator habitats.

The evening news on WTVF in Nashville on December 7 had the kind of news that the solar industry would rather not see.

The station’s consumer reporter aired a nearly four-minute story detailing a list of complaints aimed at residential solar installer Pink Energy. The company filed for bankruptcy liquidation in early October.
