Thin film PV maker Ascent Solar Technologies lined up an equity-based financing facility of up to $50 million from two institutional investors.
Under terms of the agreement, Ascent issued $12.5 million in convertible advance notes and another $2.5 million in convertible advance notes in a concurrent private placement transaction.
Net proceeds are expected to pay fees and expenses related to the financing and for working capital and other general corporate purposes.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico plans to ask U.S. President Joe Biden for as much as $48 billion in financing for solar projects, Foreign Relations Secretary Marcel Ebrard said Dec. 20.
Ebrard said the request will be presented to Biden at the upcoming Jan. 9-10 meeting of U.S., Canadian and Mexican leaders in Mexico City.
The U.S. Postal Service said it now expects to acquire at least 66,000 battery electric delivery vehicles as part of its 106,000 vehicle acquisition plan for deliveries between now and 2028.
