BUENOS AIRES, Jan 17 (Reuters) - Argentina's energy ministry
said on Tuesday that 89 companies are interested in building 196
projects to generate electricity as the government tries to
attract private investment to lift the country out of recession.

BRASILIA, Jan 17 (Reuters) - Brazil's state-controlled oil
company Petrobras on Tuesday closed a $4 billion
issuance of 5 and 10-year notes in international markets as part
of the debt-laden company's efforts to term out upcoming
maturities, it said in a statement.
