As promised, on the first day he took office US President Joe Biden rejoined the Paris Climate Agreement via an executive order. In his inaugural address he said that the planet itself is crying for survival and vowed to make fighting climate change on his top priorities.
This week solar developer Navisun announced that it has acquired the 4.5-megawatt Linden Hawk Rise Solar Project, a community solar project under construction in Linden, New Jersey. The solar project is located on the City of Linden’s landfill, in Union County, New Jersey. CS Energy was instrumental in developing the project and is currently constructing the project.
Kenya-based renewable energy company Lake Turkana Wind Power has partnered with energy solutions firm Clir Renewables to enhance its wind farm performance tracking.
Clir Renewables will analyze data from each of Lake Turkana’s 365 turbines in the context of available resource, geospatial features, and nearby turbines.
Dominion Energy announced that one of its subsidiaries has acquired the 150 MW Hardin solar generating facility, which recently entered service in Hardin County, Ohio, from Chicago-based renewables developer Invenergy.
Facebook will take the electricity generated at the facility as well as the renewable energy credits, under a long-term agreement signed prior to the project’s construction.
(Thu, 14 Jan 2021) The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) forecasts that members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) will earn about $323 billion in net oil export revenues in 2020. If realized, this forecast revenue would be the lowest in 18 years. Lower crude oil prices and lower export volumes drive this expected decrease in export revenues.

(Mon, 04 Jan 2021) The U.S. Energy Atlas is EIAâs new web-based mapping tool, which features detailed energy infrastructure and enhanced navigation and data accessibility features. The available map layers, based on EIA data, include locations of power plants, coal mines, oil and natural gas wells, pipelines, storage facilities, natural gas processing plants, refineries, and other types of energy facilities.
(Wed, 23 Dec 2020) The International Energy Portal now includes complete annual datasets through 2018, and many annual datasets are available for 2019 as well. In addition, EIA has begun releasing annual data when available, rather than at the end of each year. You can also now access monthly updates for petroleum and other liquids production for all countries and for energy consumption for countries within the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. <br><br>
