Floods and farms fuel jump in methane emissions - researchers

BARCELONA, Sept 27 (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - A sharp
increase in methane, a potent greenhouse gas, in the Earth's
atmosphere since 2007 is the result of higher emissions from
biological sources such as rice paddies, cattle and swamps
rather than fossil fuels, researchers said on Tuesday.

Weatherford International Plc agreed to pay a $140 million
penalty to settle charges that it inflated earnings by using
deceptive income tax accounting, the U.S. Securities and
Exchange Commission said on Tuesday.
