Trump on rescinding what the activist investor called "excessive
regulation" on U.S. businesses, the president-elect's transition
team announced on Wednesday.

Activist investor ramps up pressure on Shell to act on climate change

London, Dec 21 (Reuters) - Oil major Royal Dutch Shell
is facing rising pressure from shareholders to shield
its business from climate change threats and to play a bigger
role in lowering global carbon emissions.

Petrobras inks $2.2 bln deal with Total to sell assets

BRASILIA, Dec 21 (Reuters) - Petroleo Brasileiro SA
said on Wednesday it agreed with France's Total SA to
sell $2.2 billion worth of assets that include stakes in
oilfields and two thermal power stations.

US$40 million available for the first open-ocean, grid-connected U.S. wave energy test facility

U.S. Sens. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and Patty Murray, D-Wash., today announced funding will be awarded to build the United States’ first open-ocean, power grid-connected wave energy test facility at a site off the Oregon coast, according to a U.S. Senate press release.

UPDATE 1-Nigerian union says to end strike over Exxon Mobil sackings

ONITSHA, Nigeria, Dec 21 (Reuters) - Nigerian oil workers at
Exxon Mobil have decided to end a strike over sackings
of staff after earlier agreeing to halt crude oil production, a
union official said on Wednesday.
