U.S. set to become energy exporter by 2026 -EIA

NEW YORK, Jan 5 (Reuters) - The United States is projected
to become a net energy exporter over the next decade due to
rising natural gas exports and falling petroleum product
imports, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said on
Thursday.

UPDATE 1-U.S. crude stockpiles slump, fuel inventories surge at year end

Jan 5 (Reuters) - U.S. crude oil inventories fell sharply as
higher refining runs prompted a surge in gasoline and distillate
stocks in the last week of 2016, the Energy Information
Administration said on Thursday.

Sri Lanka delays southern port JV with Chinese firm

COLOMBO, Jan 5 (Reuters) - Sri Lanka has delayed a joint
venture with China Merchants Port Holdings Company Ltd
to develop a port in its south, where China has also offered to
build an investment zone, a top government official said on

WAPDA to Increase Output at 1,000-MW Mangla Hydropower Project in Pakistan to 1,310 MW

On Dec. 29, the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) announced it is moving forward with a modernization project at the 1,000-MW Mangla hydroelectric project to increase the facility’s generating output by 310 MW at an estimated cost of Rs 52.224 billion (US$769 million).
