UPDATE 1-Bankruptcy judge denies request for Peabody equity committee

ST. LOUIS, Jan 19 (Reuters) - A U.S. bankruptcy judge denied
on Thursday a request by Peabody Energy Corp
shareholders to order the appointment of an official equity
committee in the coal miner's Chapter 11 restructuring, crushing
hopes of a recovery for investors.

Brazil oil workers' union accepts Petrobras' collective wage deal

SAO PAULO, Jan 19 (Reuters) - The Brazilian oil workers'
union has accepted a proposal from state-controlled Petrobras
for a collective wage deal, the union said in a statement on its
website on Thursday.

UPDATE 1-Antofagasta to exit Chilean hydropower project

SANTIAGO, Jan 19 (Reuters) - Chilean copper miner
Antofagasta said on Thursday it would sell its 40
percent stake in the Alto Maipo hydroelectric power project to
partner AES Gener, exiting the project entirely.

EPC contract signed for 30-MW Nyadi hydropower project in Nepal

Nyadi Hydropower Ltd. and Zhejiang Hydropower Construction & Installation Company Ltd. of China signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract on Jan. 16 for the 30-MW Nyadi hydropower project, according to local published reports.  

India to levy service tax on freight for imports on delivered basis

NEW DELHI, Jan 19 (Reuters) - Overseas exporters chartering
foreign vessels to supply goods to India will have to pay a
service tax on freight from Sunday, a government notification
said.
