As part of this plan, SSE has partnered with Siemens to introduce the new first-of-a-kind, high efficiency gas-fired generation technology to the UK.
Siemens will be responsible for supplying of its 9000HL technology for the Keadby 2 power plant. The firm will also manage technical, construction risk until the plant is handed over to SSE.

Under the contract, Odfjell will use the semi-submersible mobile drilling rig, Deepsea Atlantic, to drill six wells at the two licenses.
Work under the contract is scheduled to commence in early first quarter 2019 and is expected to last for 18 months.
Odfjell has signed a master framework agreement (MFA) with Equinor. The deal has terms that will be used for future rig contracts with Odfjell on the Norwegian continental shelf.

The partners will receive a grant from Canada’s Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) to develop the nanostructured material.

Enel , acting through its advanced energy services unit Enel X and RusEnergoSbyt, the energy supplier and joint venture between Enel and ESN, signed a Partnership Agreement with Joint Stock Company Russian Railways (“RZhD”), whereby the two players will team up mainly for the development of innovative energy storage systems to be installed across the Country’s railway network. This is the first time this type of battery technology is used in the railway sector.

Aker BP is the operator of the Alvheim field, which is an oil and gas field in the central part of the North Sea, west of Heimdal and close to the boundary with the UK sector. Water depth in the area is approximately 124 metres.
We have given Aker BP consent to use the Deepsea Stavanger mobile drilling facility to drill on the field.

The NY-3 well is planned to a total depth of 2,300 metres to evaluate several prospective horizons. The NY-3 well is funded through existing Kub-Gas cashflow.

Global oil prices fell by up to 3% Friday after Saudi Arabia said it is working on a plan with allies to boost oil supplies in H2 2018. About a month ago, legislators for the District of Columbia introduced a bill that, if passed, could revolutionize how utilities deliver power to customers. The bill is known as the Distributed Energy Resources Authority Act. It would establish an independent body that ensures DC utilities look at non-wires alternatives whenever they propose to spend more than $25M on construction to expand capacity or enhance reliability.
