A coalition of clean energy organizations have asked the Michigan Court of Appeals to reverse the decision of the Michigan Public Service Commission to approve a massive new natural gas power plant to be built by DTE Energy.
A new initiative has been launched to boost the number of women at senior levels and middle management in the UK energy industry.

South Korea-based Hanwha Q CELLS Korea Corp. today said it will begin building a solar module manufacturing facility in the U.S. this year.
Under the contract, Valinox Nucléaire will manufacture more than 47,500 tubes for the eight steam generators of the two new reactor units of the EDF’s £16bn ($27bn) nuclear project.
Vallourec management board chairman Philippe Crouzet said: “This contract once again shows Vallourec’s expertise as a key partner in the French nuclear industry and testifies to the solidity of our long-standing collaboration with Framatome.”
The contract value of the Yunlin project is about €500m, with Van Oord to handle design, manufacturing and installation of the eighty foundations of the offshore wind farm.
According to the Dutch offshore contractor, preparations for the wind farm will begin immediately. The offshore wind farm is to be built eight kilometers off the coast of the Yunlin prefecture.
The merger is expected to create a major operator of LPG vessels with expanded geographical coverage, said BW LPG.
Further, it said that Dorian brings a sizeable fleet of modern assets having an average vessel age of 3.9 years to its fleet that would offer improved capabilities to serve customers more efficiently.
The company’s subsidiary Enefit Green has entered into share purchase agreement with Vardar Eurus AS and minority shareholders to buy all the shares in Nelja Energia. In addition, Enefit Green will also assume a net debt of the company, which stood at €204m at the end of 2017.
Last year, Eesti Energia generated 9,736 GWh of electricity, out of which 372 GWh belonged to Enefit Green.
Spread across in an area of 475 acres and located 7 miles from southeast of Stuttgart, Ark, the solar farm took eight months to be constructed. The solar plant is considered to be the largest in the state.
During the construction phase generated significant boost to the local economy by creating hundreds of jobs and stimulating purchase of local goods and services.
