DAVOS, Switzerland, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Companies could
unlock at least $12 trillion in market opportunities by 2030 and
create up to 380 million jobs by implementing a few key
development goals, according to a study by a group including
global business and finance leaders.

Jan 15 (Reuters) - Loss-making U.S. grain handler Andersons
Inc said on Sunday it plans to exit the retail
business, affecting over a thousand employees, at a time when
the U.S. farm sector is facing a downturn due to a sharp decline
in grain prices.

SYDNEY, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Plans to provide government
support to keep open a 30-year-old aluminium smelter in
Australia owned by Alcoa have made "progress", parties
involved in talks said on Monday without giving details.

TOKYO, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Japan's Inpex Corp said
on Monday it had agreed with Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (ADNOC)
to extend its holdings in the Satah and Umm Al-Dalkh offshore
oilfields in Abu Dhabi by about 25 years.

SINGAPORE, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Oil prices inched up on
Monday, supported by a weaker dollar and expectations that OPEC
and other producers will cut output as part of a deal to curb
global oversupply.

LONDON, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Mergers and acquisitions activity
in the United Kingdom will drop sharply in 2017 due to
uncertainty over the terms of its exit from the European Union,
law firm Baker McKenzie said in a report published on Monday.

SYDNEY, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Australian energy firm DUET Group
on Monday said its board would recommend a takeover
offer from a consortium led by Hong Kong's Cheung Kong
Infrastructure Holdings (CKI) after the price was
increased slightly to value the company at A$7.37 billion ($5.51
billion).
