Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded an Owner’s Engineer contract by GNL Quintero to provide engineering services at its Quintero regasification terminal in Chile.

Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded a lump sum turn-key contract in excess of €50m by Eni for the engineering, procurement and construction of a new steam reforming plant for hydrogen production to be built at its refinery at Gela, Italy.

Proserv has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract with Premier Oil for work in Asia Pacific.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology this week said it has completed a four-week test of its Stored Energy in the Sea (StEnSEA) concept.

Corporations are making major investments in wind power. In February, North Carolina commissioned its first commercial-scale wind farm. The Amazon Wind Farm U.S. East is made up of 104 wind turbines that can produce enough energy for 61,000 homes annually. The site is using this power to run its data centers and will help the company move closer toward its goal of achieving 50 percent renewable energy use by 2018.
