The subset of respondents who now must report monthly represents approximately 90% of photovoltaic (PV) activity in the United States, based on prior yearâs data. Data include manufacturing, imports, and exports of modules in the United States and its territories. Summary data include volumes in peak kilowatts and average prices.

Late last week the Hawaiian Public Utilities Commission (HPUC) approved two new programs that it hopes will lead to a more stable grid while also giving customers options to go solar. In addition, the HPUC clarified terms of existing programs.
In China, the year witnessed newly added wind power capacity of about 23 GW, decreasing 24 percent from a year earlier, according to data released by the Chinese Wind Energy Association. The country’s total installed wind power capacity reached 169 GW.
The prospect of using solar power on a temporary basis, including for disaster response and recovery, is not new, of course. Indeed, Hurricane Hugo in 1988 is believed to be the first time that solar power was used for relief in the aftermath of a natural disaster.

(Fri, 27 Oct 2017) Recent increases in drilling activity and well production rates are raising natural gas production levels in the Haynesville region, according to EIAâs <em>Short-Term Energy Outlook</em> (STEO). Marketed natural gas production in Haynesville reached 6.9 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) in September after remaining near 6.0 Bcf/d for the previous three years.
