The New York Power Authority (NYPA) and Westchester County under the Community Distributed Generation (CDG) Partnership Program are seeking developers to install solar PV and energy storage systems for more than three dozen municipalities and school districts within the county.

Renewable developers have another option to interconnect their projects sitting in the regional transmission organizations queue. LineVision’s dynamic line ratings and SmartWires’s SmartValve lead the charge on providing options to increase the existing transmission capacity by 40%. The trick is more transmission owners need to adopt these new technologies in place of transmission lines and new substations.

American multinational technology company Apple has announced that its 2020 green bonds will support the installation of 1.2 GW of renewable energy capacity.

The company funded 17 green bond projects, from the $4.7 billion in green bond funding the company issued since 2016. From its green bond portfolio, Apple has so far allocated $2.8 billion to projects.

Most people know solar power benefits the people who use it because it reduces their utility costs. In fact, some solar-powered homeowners don’t pay anything for electricity. A lesser-known fact is that solar powered homeowners help everyone in their community through net metering, even their neighbors who still depend on the grid alone for home energy.

What exactly is Net Metering?

Guess what?  America is on the road to a clean energy transformation. Our lives and our economy are becoming more electrified, and cleaner, as a result of the growth of renewable energy generation. In 2019, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported 8.8 percent of utility-scale electricity was generated by wind and solar.

The UK’s annual budget was announced last week by Chancellor Rishi Sunak revealing more government support for the UK’s wind industry.

Massachusetts won’t meet its climate goals without getting people to drive less.

That’s the unpopular message from climate advocates and analysts who say the state’s recent Clean Energy and Climate Plan draft places too much emphasis on vehicle electrification and all but ignores the critical need to also reduce driving miles.

Missouri utility regulators have approved construction plans for what will be Ameren’s largest-ever solar power farm in the state.

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Water Power Technologies Office (WPTO) funded development of the newly released Pumped Storage Hydropower Valuation Guidebook to advance the state-of-the-art in assessing the value of pumped storage hydropower (PSH) plants and their contributions to the power system.

EDP Renewables SA, through its fully owned subsidiary EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA), and Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO), a subsidiary of NiSource, have executed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and a Build & Transfer Agreement (BTA) for two renewable energy projects in Indiana.
