Jan 27 (Reuters) - U.S. natural gas futures were trading slightly higher early Wednesday for a sixth day in a row on forecasts for cooler weather that will boost heating demand over the next two weeks. On its last day as the front-month, February futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange were up 2.9 cents, or 1.33 percent, to $2.209 per million British thermal units at 8:15 a.m. EST (1315 GMT).
