TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Efforts to propel Kansas’ renewable energy future are at a standstill, mired in legislative stalemate. At its center is a former TV weather personality who is using his chairmanship of a key committee to promote questionable claims about green energy and to spotlight complaints from opponents of wind and solar energy projects.

The end of February was a very exciting time for the offshore wind power space. 

(Fri, 18 Mar 2022) Australia, a significant producer of both coal and liquefied natural gas (LNG), exports the majority of its energy production. Australia’s energy exports, excluding uranium, accounted for approximately 81% of its total energy production in 2020. Australia was also the world’s largest coal exporter based on energy content and the second-largest exporter based on weight, behind Indonesia. In addition, it was the largest exporter of LNG in the world that year.

Volvo Cars and Starbucks announced a pilot partnership that could bring fast EV chargers to up to 15 of the coffee giant's locations along a route from Denver to Seattle.

In the Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANOPR) issued last summer on transmission planning and generator interconnection reform, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) asked for comments on whether there is a role for an Independent Transmission Monitor like the current Independent Market Monitor role at most grid operators. Independent transmission companies, consumer advocates, industrial customers, and renewable developers favor an independent transmission monitor.

The announcement last November was refreshing to solar energy advocates.

Due to the Russian war, half of the renewable energy facilities in Ukraine are threatened with complete or partial destruction as of March 11, 2022, according to the Ukrainian Association of Renewable Energy.

Dominion Energy Virginia's plan to add 1 GW of solar and energy storage capacity has been approved by state regulators.

The plan features 15 Dominion Energy Virginia projects and 24 power purchase agreements with third-party developers.
