Energy Update
PARIS, May 31 (Reuters) - France is looking at ways to
provide financial support for the storage of natural gas because
market prices for storage have fallen too low to guarantee
security of supply, storage operator Storengy said.
Toshiba Corp. on May 30 said it will supply a flash steam turbine system and generator for the Kizildere III Geothermal Power Plant in Turkey.
The California Public Utilities Commission, in a May 26 resolution, directed Edison International subsidiary South California Edison (SCE) to hold an expedited competitive energy storage procurement solicitation for capacity that must be available by the end of the year.
Over the past five years, U.S. electricity generation from biomass across all sectors grew from 56 terawatthours in 2010 to 64 TWh in 2015. Much of this growth occurred in southern states such as Virginia, Florida, and Georgia. In 2015, electricity generation from biomass across all sectors accounted for 11.3 percent of renewable electricity generation and 1.6 percent of total electricity generation in the U.S.

captured a second town from in as many days from Islamic State,
a spokesman said, pushing the militant group back towards its

Tuesday rejected a union's appeal of a lower court's ruling that
allowed Atlantic City's Trump Taj Mahal casino, founded by
Donald Trump but now owned by billionaire investor Carl Icahn,
to break its contract with union workers to secure a bankruptcy
rescue deal.

PARIS, May 31 (Reuters) - France's government moved on
Tuesday to calm protests against labour law reform ahead of the
month-long European soccer championship, announcing a pay rise
for school teachers and pledging to speed up reorganisation
talks at the SNCF railways.
Battery storage has made enormous strides in terms of cost and efficiency. Unfortunately, our society’s needs keep increasing — both for power (kilowatts for our cars, industries and HVAC) and energy (sustained energy delivery, even at night).
