BEIJING, Aug 16 (Reuters) - China's power consumption
reached 552.3 billion kilowatt hours (kwh) in July, up 8.17
percent from the same period a year earlier, the country's
economic planner said on Tuesday.
SINGAPORE, Aug 16 (Reuters) - Oil prices edged away from
5-week highs on Tuesday, with traders cashing in on a 16-percent
rally since early August that has largely been fuelled by talk
of producers taking action to prop up the market.
SYDNEY, Aug 16 (Reuters) - Australian shares are set for a
firm start on Tuesday, tracking a buoyant session on Wall
Street, with investors focused on more earnings results from

Aug 15 (Reuters) - Industrial gas supplier Praxair Inc
is in talks to merge with Germany's Linde AG,
the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing people
familiar with the matter.
BOSTON, Aug 15 (Reuters) - Tesla Motors Inc gained
backing from Fidelity Investments and from hedge funds during
the second quarter, recent securities filings show, a period
when the electric car company made a buyout offer for SolarCity
Corp.

investor whose stock investments still create a buzz on Wall

made a new bet on Allergan and slashed his holding in
