BEIJING, Aug 23 (Reuters) - China's crackdown on alleged tax
evasion in the oil industry will target independent refineries
and follows complaints by state energy giants, in the first
major sign of growing tensions between established players and
their upstart rivals.
MUMBAI, Aug 23 (Reuters) - India's No. 3 mobile phone
carrier, Idea Cellular, strongly denied a news report
on Tuesday that it was in exploratory talks about a merger with
larger rival Vodafone India.

Tuesday that the two auto parts suppliers with which it has been
at loggerheads over a contract dispute had agreed to start
delivering parts again and that the affected plants would
gradually resume production.
FRANKFURT, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Volkswagen and two
auto parts suppliers have reached an agreement in a contract
dispute that has forced the carmaker to halt some production,
German daily Hannoversche Allgemeine said on its website on
Tuesday, citing no sources.
