European shares pull back, weighed down by pharma, miners

MILAN, Aug 25 (Reuters) - European shares fell on Thursday,
weighed down by losses among pharma and mining sector stocks,
while firms such as Sunrise and Ahold were lifted by well
received earning updates.

Turkey wants Syrian Kurdish forces east of the Euphrates in a week - defence minister

ANKARA, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Turkey wants to secure a complete
move of the Syrian Kurdish PYD to east of the Euphrates river
within a week, Turkish Defence Minister Fikri Isik said on
Thursday, a day after Turkey launched its first U.S.-backed
incursion into Syria.

Seadrill says oil industry may be turning as Q2 beats forecast

OSLO, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Norway-listed offshore driller
Seadrill, once the crown jewel in the business empire
of shipping tycoon John Fredriksen, said the oil industry may be
turning a corner as it posted second-quarter earnings above
forecasts on Thursday.
