NEW YORK, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Billionaire activist investor
Carl Icahn said the strong rally in U.S. stocks since Donald
Trump captured the White House last week might be overdone, but
that investors can expect the president-elect to be a consensus
builder who can help fix Washington and improve the economy.

UPDATE 1-Freeport closes Congo mine sale, CEO talking to state miner

LIMA, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Freeport-McMoRan Inc said
on Wednesday it had completed the $2.65 billion sale of its
stake in the Democratic Republic of Congo's Tenke mine, as chief
executive Richard Adkerson said in an interview that he hopes
negotiations will resolve the state miner's opposition to the
deal.

Venezuela congress declares Ramirez responsible for PDVSA graft

National Assembly on Wednesday declared former PDVSA
President Rafael Ramirez "politically responsible" for what it

NEW YORK, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Oil production in North Dakota
dropped more than 10,000 barrels-per-day (bpd) in September, the
state Industrial Commission reported on Wednesday, citing
continued weakness in oil prices.

Colombia coal output up 17.6 pct in third quarter

BOGOTA, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Colombia's coal output rose 17.6
percent to 23.4 million tonnes in the third quarter, the Energy
and Mining Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

First Solar to slash 1,600 jobs

Nov 16 (Reuters) - First Solar Inc, the largest
U.S. solar equipment maker, said it would slash about 1,600
jobs, or 27 percent of its global workforce, to cut costs as it
transitions to production of Series 6 modules.
