Three turbine manufacturers provide more than 75% of U.S. wind capacity

(Mon, 28 Nov 2016) EIA recently started collecting data on wind turbine manufacturers, turbine models, and other wind plant attributes in the Annual Electric Generator Report. As of the end of 2015, just three manufacturers—General Electric (GE), Vestas, and Siemens—accounted for 55 gigawatts (GW), or 76%, of installed wind generating capacity in the United States.

Venezuela Puerto La Cruz refinery hit by blackout- sources

CARACAS, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Venezuela's Puerto La Cruz
refinery was hit by a blackout on Sunday night, a union leader
and workers said, adding to refining troubles in the oil-rich
country although the complex was barely operational before the
outage.

Oil prices tumble as doubts over planned crude output cut rise

SINGAPORE, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Oil prices fell over 1 percent
on Monday, extending declines from last Friday as doubts
re-emerged over the ability of major producers to cut output at
a planned meeting on Wednesday aimed at reining in global

U.S. authorities say no plans to forcibly remove North Dakota protesters

Nov 27 (Reuters) - U.S. authorities said on Sunday they had
no plans to forcibly remove activists protesting plans to run an
oil pipeline beneath a lake near the Standing Rock Sioux
reservation in North Dakota, despite telling them to leave by
early December.

UPDATE 1-Saudi energy minister: oil market would balance even without output cuts

DHAHRAN, Saudi Arabia, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia's
energy minister Khalid al-Falih said on Sunday that he believed
the oil market would balance itself in 2017 even if producers
did not intervene, and that keeping output at current levels
could therefore be justified.

UPDATE 1-Brazil's Temer vows to block amnesty for election crimes

BRASILIA, Nov 27 (Reuters) - President Michel Temer said on
Sunday that he and leaders of Brazil's Congress will not allow
an amnesty for election slush funds sought by some lawmakers to
avoid prosecution for receiving graft money.

Kuwaiti opposition win big in anti-austerity vote

KUWAIT, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Opposition candidates are
estimated to have won around 20 seats out of 50 in Kuwaiti
elections that saw most parliament members replaced, in a vote
analysts said reflects anger at austerity measures to curb a
budget deficit.

UPDATE 1-Militants kidnap six Pakistanis working for Polish oil firm

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Six
Pakistanis working for a Polish oil and gas surveying company
have been kidnapped in northwestern Pakistan, military sources
told Reuters, years after a Polish engineer from the same
company was beheaded by Pakistani militants.
