NEW YORK, Jan 12 (Reuters) - The U.S. government on Thursday
said that ethanol made from corn is better for the environment
than previously expected in a report boosting the country's
biggest biofuel a week ahead of a new administration that has
some in the industry concerned.

NEW YORK, Jan 12 (Reuters) - Motorists drove 262.2 billion
miles (422 billion km) on U.S. roads in November, a 4.3 percent
increase from a year prior and the highest volumes ever for the
month, according to data released Thursday by the U.S.
Department of Transportation.

Jan 12 (Reuters) - New York Governor Andrew Cuomo this week
proposed to develop up to 2,400 megawatts (MW) of offshore wind
power by 2030 capable of powering 1.25 million homes as the
state seeks to lead the nation in renewable energy production.

MEXICO CITY, Jan 12 (Reuters) - An accident at the Ciudad
Madero refinery of Mexican state-owned oil firm Pemex killed one
worker on Thursday, but the incident will not affect production,
a company spokesperson said.

“What happened to oil in the late 1970s?” was a question assigned to me in elementary school to discuss with family over the Christmas holiday break. At the time, this question seemed innocent enough, and I didn’t know how my family would react about what I soon learned to be two oil embargos.

Thursday filed corruption charges against Decal do Brasil
co-founder Mariano Marcondes Ferraz accusing him of bribing a
former executive at state-run oil company Petrobras to win
contracts for Ferraz's own firm.

Americans like solar. Study after study has shown that the American public supports solar and wants the country to use more of it. Corporations like solar, too. When a company signs a solar PPA, it in effect locks in lower electricity prices for a fixed timeframe, which is music to the ears of the Chief Financial Officer.  The fact that that energy is clean and renewable is music to the ears of the Chief Marketing Officer or  Chief Sustainability Officer.  All good, right?
