2024 Residential Energy Consumption Survey Data and Technical Documentation

(Thu, 21 May 2026) We have released the preliminary housing characteristics public use microdata file for the 2024 <em>Residential Energy Consumption Survey</em> (RECS), which allows analyses on topics like structural and geographic characteristics of homes, types of electronics and appliances used within them, lighting characteristics, square footage, and household energy insecurity for all 50 states and the District of Columbia. This release also includes the accompanying userâs guide and technical documentation for the 2024 RECS Household Survey.
