House Democrats passed a $1 trillion bill to address the nation’s aging infrastructure, improve climate resilience and expand high-speed internet access, but put a larger social policy and climate bill on hold.
The measure includes $47 billion to help communities prepare for the new age of extreme fires, floods, storms and droughts that scientists say are worsened by human-caused climate change.
