Amazon.com announced today that it plans to purchase the energy produced by three new renewable energy projects as part of its long-term goal to power all Amazon Web Services (AWS) global infrastructure with renewable energy. MAN Energy Solutions, VERBUND and New Brunswick Power are all experimenting with zero-carbon hydrogen as a future fuel source. Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems is also considering the alternative.

(Mon, 08 Apr 2019) During the past five years, only a small amount of new underground natural gas storage capacity was built in the Lower 48 states and no new storage facilities have entered operation in that time. EIA measures underground natural gas storage capacity in two ways: design capacity and demonstrated maximum working gas volume (or demonstrated peak).
There are a total of about 530,000 potentially feasible pumped hydro energy storage sites worldwide, with a total storage potential of about 22 million GWh. These astonishing numbers come from a report recently released by Professor Andrew Blakers and other researchers with Australian National University’s RE100 Group.
On Thursday, US Congressman from Pennsylvania Mike Doyle introduced a bill that would establish a federal investment tax credit (ITC) for energy storage. The legislation would allow energy storage project developers, both commercial and residential, to receive a 30 percent tax credit for large-scale, commercial-scale and residential-scale storage projects through 2021.
