To say that the bioenergy industry is multi-faceted would be a huge understatement. The catchall term “bioenergy” can be used to describe biomass for power; biomass for heat; biogas — derived from agricultural or animal waste — for power; and biofuel for transportation — which encompasses everything from biodiesel to corn ethanol to second-generation ethanol.
