Stantec announces it has been selected by Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) to conduct a feasibility study for the 1,800-MW Gregory County Pumped Storage Project located on Lake Francis Case on the Missouri River, near Lucas, S.D.
The proposed project will provide increased energy resiliency and grid reliability, while also addressing intermittent power generated by wind and solar, and aligns with the global transition to more sustainable forms of energy generation.
Offshore wind cabling manufacturer JDR Cable Systems has announced that it will receive funding from the UK government’s Offshore Wind Manufacturing Investment Support scheme.
Together with private investment from the company, a total of £130 million ($178 million) will be invested in facilities that will develop and build components for next-generation wind turbines.

The evolution of high-efficiency solar photovoltaic (PV) string inverters is driving a shift toward higher AC voltages in utility-scale solar applications. Using string inverters in solar plants rated at 20 megawatts and below can be extremely beneficial. With output voltages now as high as 1000VAC, the same amperages will yield higher output power levels.
