California utility regulators won’t meet a year-end deadline on deciding how much residents should be paid for power from their rooftop solar panels under the state's net metering program, the state’s chief regulator said.

As part of the Clean Power Plan, EPA has proposed an early incentive program to reward investments in renewable energy generation. The proposal, however, only includes some renewable technologies and while wind and solar are included, geothermal is not.
