Southern California Edison is embracing energy storage technology over the natural gas-fired peaker plants that utilities have traditionally relied upon to meet sudden shortfalls in electricity.
Marine hydrokinetics (MHK) company BioPower Systems (BPS) reports it deployed its 250 kW bioWAVE pilot demonstration unit, Dec. 16, in the Southern Ocean off the southeastern coast of Australia near Port Fairy, Victoria.
BEIRUT, Dec 22 (Reuters) - Russia will begin building two nuclear power plant units in Iran next week, Mehr news agency quoted an Iranian nuclear official as saying, under a deal signed in Moscow last year between subsidiaries of the two countries' state atomic agencies.
DTE Energy, in collaboration with the City of Lapeer, Mich., plans to break ground in the spring of 2016 on 45 MW of new solar generating capacity at two project sites. The projects will generate enough electricity to power 9,000 average size homes with clean, zero-emission solar energy.
