SolarCity Corp., the most prolific installer of rooftop panels in the U.S., obtained financing to support about $188 million in solar projects. The investment will cover the costs of equipment and installation.
The federal agencies that provide the muscle for energy policy are finalizing plans to harness the energy from one billion tons of biomass per year. The “Bioeconomy Vision” is an effort to move biomass out of the laboratory and into the market. The goal, within the next 15 years, is production and commercialization of biofuels, renewable chemicals and similar organic products.
Typically, energy engagement programs focus narrowly on specific concerns, such as saving money. These programs may hit their short-term goals, but tend to fall short in the long run. We’ve been working with clients for years to solve this problem. We — along with numerous social science researchers — have found that energy consumption behaviors and attitudes are deeply loaded with emotion, and are far from rational.
