JUBA, Aug 3 (Reuters) - South Sudan's President Salva Kiir
fired six ministers allied to his long-time rival Riek Machar
late on Tuesday, widening a political rift in the world's newest
nation and drawing threats of more fighting.

Clinton campaign studying alternative to U.S. ethanol mandate

presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's campaign has solicited
advice from California regulators on how to revamp a federal
regulation requiring biofuels like corn-based ethanol be blended
into the nation's gasoline supply, according to campaign and
state officials.

States in US Northeast Prioritize Renewable Energy

New York this week joined neighbor Vermont in aggressively pushing for more renewable energy in its power portfolio. The New York State Public Service Commission approved a mandate issued last fall by Gov. Andrew Cuomo that New York supply 50 percent of its electricity from renewable energy sources by 2030.

a quarterly loss, compared with a year-ago profit, hurt by lower
oil prices.

Noble Energy reports bigger loss, raises 2016 sales vol forecast

Aug 3 (Reuters) - U.S. oil and gas producer Noble Energy Inc
reported a bigger quarterly loss due to weak oil prices,
but raised its full-year forecast for sales volume.
