SYDNEY, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Mining giants Rio Tinto
and BHP Billiton on Tuesday rebuffed
proposals to replace one of the taxes they must pay on their
iron ore businesses in the state of Western Australia with
annual upfront payments.

MANILA, Oct 4 (Reuters) - The Philippines' Aboitiz Power
Corp said on Tuesday it will acquire stakes held by
funds managed by Blackstone Group LP in a local
coal-fired power plant and another power project under
construction for about $1.2 billion.

While U.S. exports of distillate and gasoline increased by 50,000 b/d and nearly 140,000 b/d, respectively, propane exports increased by more than 230,000 b/d.
