(Wed, 09 Nov 2016) Total investment in oil and natural gas extraction in Norway was 21% lower in the first half of 2016 compared with the first half of 2015, a decline of about 20.9 billion Norwegian kroner (US $3.5 billion). However, investment cuts have affected some segments of the industry more than others.

BEIJING, Nov 9 (Reuters) - A former general manager of
Chinese energy giant Sinopec Group admitted to accepting 33
million yuan ($4.87 million) in bribes, China's anti-corruption
watchdog said.

BANGKOK, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Thai Oil Pcl, Thailand's
largest oil refiner, said on Wednesday it had recorded a net
profit of 2.94 billion baht ($84 million) in the third quarter
due to improved income from its petrochemical businesses and
gains from foreign exchange and oil hedging.

PDVSA said on Tuesday it had controlled a crude spill in a
northeastern state and ruled out any contamination of the

BERLIN, Nov 9 (Reuters) - German Economy Minister Sigmar
Gabriel, a Social Democrat, on Tuesday blocked a tentative
agreement on a climate action plan that aims to reduce the
country's CO2 emissions by 55 percent by 2030, amid concerns
raised by a mining union, government officials said.

LAUNCESTON, Australia, Nov 9 (Reuters) - The sharp drop in
China's crude oil imports in October can be ascribed to a
combination of factors, but one of them should be a red flag to
OPEC, threatening the success of any deal to curb production.

SINGAPORE, Nov 9 (Reuters) - U.S. oil prices dipped early on
Wednesday, weighed by a report of rising crude inventories, but
trading was timid as the market was watching the first key U.S.
exit polls being released.

Saipem has been awarded new contracts and change orders in the E&C offshore segment. The overall amount of the contracts is about $1bn.

Bibby Offshore, the subsea services provider to the oil and gas industry, has been awarded two contracts from Shell to provide inspection services on assets in the Corrib Natural Gas field in the North Atlantic Ocean.
