UPDATE 1-UK prosecutor drops Somali corruption inquiry into Soma Oil

LONDON, Dec 14 (Reuters) - UK prosecutors have closed a
17-month investigation into alleged bribery and corruption at
Soma Oil & Gas, a private UK exploration company seeking oil in
Somalia, despite finding "reasonable grounds" to suspect
wrongdoing.

UPDATE 2-Brazil's Temer loses top aide due to graft allegations

BRASILIA, Dec 14 (Reuters) - One of Brazilian President
Michel Temer's closest aides resigned on Wednesday following
allegations he had received graft money from engineering
conglomerate Odebrecht in a widening corruption scandal that is
besieging the government.

UPDATE 2-Nigerian deficit to rise as Buhari presents record budget

ABUJA, Dec 14 (Reuters) - Nigeria expects its 2017 deficit
to rise to 2.36 trillion naira ($7.75 billion), President

CANADA STOCKS-TSX retreats from 19-month high ahead of Fed decision

lost ground as investors braced for the Federal Reserve's

EDF's board approves partial sale of its grid unit RTE - source

PARIS, Dec 14 (Reuters) - EDF's board has approved
the partial sale of the French state-controlled utility's
high-voltage power grid to state bank Caisse des Depots, a
source familiar with the situation said on Wednesday.
